Advance Scam!

By TIR User On January 14, 2010 NO COMMENTS

Be very careful, advance scams are popping up all over the place. It used to be in California, then on the east coast, now, if you are giving advances without knowing the carrier you are just begging for trouble! Even if you find the carriers on a load board.

Advance scams have become so prevalent that you must check out each carrier very carefully, if not, you will end up losing a lot of money.  Every day more reports are coming through the pipelines, even when things seem so legit!  The carrier calls in loaded, you give the advance, you never see the load again!

Make sure you know the company you are dealing with, even double check their phone and fax numbers, make sure they are out of the same region that is on their authority.

DO NOT DEAL WITH COMPANIES WITH “PRIVATE” NUMBERS!!!

Able Transport Systems, Stolen Shipments, Loads Held Hostage

By TIR User On January 13, 2010 1 COMMENT

MC # 592860

There are reports all over about this company.   Their US authority has been revoked yet the still do business.  They book loads from the US, co broker the loads, get an advance, and hold the load hostage.  Often the end carrier has no clue where the shipment is going.  For example, the shipment may be from LA to NC.  Able will book the load going from LA to SD just to get the freight moved.  Then the load ends up in SD and everyone paying the cost except for Able.

There are numerous sites dedicated to Able Transport alone.  Please watch out and be very very  careful!
